Who is and what is behind Dance with Wools...
I am mama to 4 amazing children and married to the most wonderful husband. We live on a quaint little acreage just outside of St. Paul, Alberta. I have always had a love for fibre, colour, and creating things in general, but my love for the fibre arts in particular began to grow by leaps and bounds when I began helping my mother tend to her sheep. Being there to help with the care of the flock, from delivering a newborn lamb to the shearing every spring has given me enormous respect for the value and hard work that goes into fibre arts!

I draw my ideas for the things I make from life... from conversations with family and friends, from my environment, and even from my childrens' abstract art!
Currently 70% of my wool comes from Sheep Haven Farm. It is locally run by my mother, where the sheep are free range. I am present at shearing time to ensure that the best quality fleeces are set aside for myself! From there the wool will either be sent to fibre mill or processed by me personally. I will only accept the best fibre for carding into batts and spinning.
The remaining wool blends and exotics such as silk and plant fibres are ordered from reputable dealers that also have a high standard of quality
